The Best Job Ever has me super stoked to be joining a road trip around Uganda; 2 Wild Weeks On The Road.
The countdown begins…
Has there been a time in the past half a century, when all tourism destinations, tourism boards, and associations are confronted with the hard decisions of how to make sense of a crisis; how to make their tourism sectors SURVIVE, RECOVER and thereafter THRIVE.
Well, what this noiseless time without guests has given us is the opportunity to restart at the same line.
I recently published a high-quality-impactful article titled 50 Incredible Safari Retreats To Visit After Lockdown that like many of my projects was well received and distributed globally and has put Uganda in a good light. Thank you to everyone who contributed to it, read, and also shared it.
As a follow-up of the same, a promotional road trip branded “The Best Job Ever; 2 Wild Weeks On the Road” is on the cards. I have planned this with a team of tourism enthusiasts for what would be the busy period for safari business in Uganda, which will not be as busy this year due to the COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) pandemic.
The trip intends to achieve 2 main objectives:
- Give Uganda’s visitors (who would have been on safari this year) an experience that they can look forward to traveling again soon and kickstart a discourse on a destination that is still as alive as it was a couple of months ago. Unfortunately, we cannot visit the primates until further notice but will highlight the wildlands including some unpopular ones.
- To present Ugandan tourism businessmen and women with a message that it’s not the end of the world and that the best job ever is still alive.
This trip is part of a Visit Uganda Tomorrow Campaign, which was soft-launched in April.
Yours truly will be joining three other tourism enthusiasts and a series of lodge partners on an interactive Visit Uganda Discovery Roadtrip geared towards geo-referencing content to show accessible attractions and activities for local and international visitors.
The Best Job Ever, as we have dubbed it, will entail 2 Wild Weeks On The Road to inform but also bring back memories of some favorite wild zones, but also cause hope for both tourists and tourism professionals of the better days that are soon to come.
From your smartphone, you can join a team of 4 travelers on 4 wheels for 14 days with 14 cameras.
Prepare to fall in LOVE.
You can also join the conversation online using our campaign hashtags: #VisitUgandaTomorrow & #RestartTourism.
Feel at peace to share some of your favorite past experiences and things that you may have missed, having been in lockdown for a couple of months.
